AN Irish firm will today sign a multi- million euro contract to distribute worldwide a golf clothing range by fashion giant Calvin Klein.
Premium Golf Brands is Europe’s largest golf apparel distribution company and operates from its headquarters in Mallow Road, Cork.
Calvin Klein got into the golf business in 2007, and appointed Premium as its exclusive European licensee.
The two companies will sign their latest contract today in New York, as part of the Enterprise Ireland trade mission to the US. Under the contract, Premium will distribute the Calvin Klein range worldwide.
Enterprise Ireland is the State agency responsible for promoting Irish businesses overseas.
More than 90 companies are participating in the trade mission, led by Taoiseach Brian Cowen and Foreign Affairs Minister Micheál Martin, which is expected to see a number of new deals announced.
Mr Martin last night welcomed the golf deal ahead of today’s signing. "This Cork company has become the first Irish firm to win a worldwide licence to manage the global roll-out of a major clothing range," he said.
