THE catchphrase “ghost estates” is well-worn term by now. However, another catch phrase that has appeared in the media of late, coined by the heritage organisation An Taisce, is “ghost roads”.
CAN even one of those clever sociologists in Irish universities, with their massive salaries and pensions paid for by the taxpayer, explain to us why Ireland isn’t like Iceland.
IT can only be hoped that the introduction of the public service obligation levy on electricity, with prices to increase up to 5%, will be a wake-up call to help dispel the myth that renewable energy (specifically wind) is not costly.
DOES the energy regulator seriously believe renewables will give us security of energy supply? If so, he’s literally whistling in the wind.
